A heap of new Events for 2009 have been added to the Events Calendar.

For some of them, we may need a deposit (where indicated), or an idea of how many people will be attending (if there aren't enough people interested, then the club will be operating at a loss, so we'll have no choice but to cancel the Event).

Sorry to all those who couldn't access the website for most of yesterday... unfortunately it was one of those unforeseen technical glitches beyond my control.

According to our Hosting Provider, someone apparently downloaded 1.85Gb (1850 Megabytes) of data from our website yesterday (which exceeded our monthly limit of 1Gb). That in itself is impossible considering we're using about 30Mb of the 50Mb space that's available to us.

So, after some convincing, they've resolved the issue *fingers crossed*

There may still be some down-time over the next few days due to scheduled maintenance on the servers, but that should only be for a few hours at most *hopefully*

Just a heads up... our website is being moved onto a faster Australian server. I've done all I can to ensure that there'll be no down-time and that the website will continue to be accessible by all.

However, if you do find it doesn't work, bear with me and i'll try resolve the issue asap.

As you know, we've got a mailing-list set-up to send out event reminders, important news, etc. which I try and keep to a bare minimum (I don't want to spam you guys), and you can opt-in to (or opt-out from) receiving these emails at any time.

I was asked to pass on newsletters and information from LYC-I (and other chapters) to members on our mailing-list. Rather than forcing these external emails onto you all, if you'd like to receive them, please contact me (webmaster@bamboo-adelaide.com) and i'll make sure you receive a copy.

I was also asked to promote ifCON 2009, so i've added the link the our links page. If any of you guys are interested, check it out. Though, it would be *nice* if one of these events were held in Australia one year!!!
